A MAN who suffered from depression over a 30 year period has teamed up with his local health authority to make a film to help others and mark Mental Health Awareness Week.
Ian Cartwright worked with the Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group to create the five minute film urging sufferers to talk bout their problems and seek help.
Mr Cartwright, 60, now works as a community involvement officer for York City Council. He said: “I hope by speaking openly about my experiences, it will encourage others to do the same and get the help they need. You’re not alone, there are many other people who suffer from depression.” The film can be viewed at https://youtu.be/O1bCb-cKx78
