A SPECIALIST centre offering sensory experiences is set to benefit from the sponsorship deal for this year's Northallerton 10k on Sunday May 27.

Simon Bailes Peugeot is handing over all entrance fees and monies raised go to Pendragon Community Trust.

The Pendragon Centre, which is located in Northallerton, provides support which makes a real difference to the lives of those with physical, mental and emotional difficulties and their families and carers.

The centre, which supports and welcomes visitors of all ages, also provides a haven for those clients and their families and carers who are seeking respite and relaxation.

David Kerfoot, chairman and trustee of the Pendragon Community Trust said: “Pendragon is making amazing progress as a new community facility, which is being utilised by clients from across the region.”

The number of entrants for last year’s race exceeded expectations, as close to 2,000 people pulled on their running shoes. This year’s race has already attracted more 800entrants with tickets still available.

Race organiser Thomas Kerfoot said: “The Northallerton 10k is now into its third year, and each year we have outsold our previous years quota but also the reaction from returning runners has been positive, it only fills us with confidence this wonderful community event is here to stay.

“The ongoing support from local businesses like Simon Bailes Peugeot, alongside the Council and the Northallerton community never ceases to amaze us.”

Simon Bailes added: “The Pendragon Centre is a special, unique facility, which makes such a positive experience to the local people who are living with difficulties in their lives as well as their families and carers.”
