STAFF who work at a North Yorkshire recycling centre have received a civic award for their high level of customer service.

Members of the Catterick Bridge Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) attended a meeting of Richmond Town Council to receive an Investors in People award.

The award is in recognition of the work the Yorwaste team does to help members of the public who visit the HWRC in Gatherley Road, Catterick.

Heather Lawler, clerk of the council, said: “The team were nominated as it was felt they go above and beyond their duty when it comes to customer service.

“The feedback we have received is that they are always extremely helpful, hard-working and cheerful.”

Rachel Steward, Yorwaste’s HWRC operations manager, said: “We are delighted for the team at the Catterick Bridge site. The award is well deserved.

“We strive for excellent customer service at all our HWRC’s across North Yorkshire, so the Catterick team are a credit to the organisation.”
