A COMMUNITY has gathered together to hold a special Christmas festival with retailers, crafters and market traders joining in.

Business group Brand Bedale is working with Bedale Christmas Festival organisers, the town council, local schools and St Gregory’s church to launch the seasons celebrations with a traditional market, food and craft event, Christingle service and Christmas lights switch on. It’s being held on Saturday December 2 in the town centre and at Bedale Hall from 10am to 6.30pm.

Donna Stothard, Chair of Brand Bedale said:”Christmas is the traditional time to gift, eat, drink and be merry and we are keen to make sure that the town’s businesses, local foods, beverages and gifts play a prominent role in this years festive choices and celebrations. We are striving to encourage local people to visit our high street and discover the quality and range our largely independent retailers have to offer.”

Special Christmas drinks will be on offer with festive brew, Jingle Bell Rock from the Pennine Brewing Company, Masons Yorkshire Gin and Vodka made in the town, and mulled wines. A pop up shop will host indoor traders.
