STAFF at a Thirsk business have been working hard for the benefit of good causes at home and around the world.

The team at Hawkesworth PAT Testing have undertaken up an array of charitable causes including collecting and donating new underwear and bras for distribution to women and children in Africa.

In remote or poorer parts of Africa underwear is a luxury that many people cannot afford or isn’t easily available.

Sales account manager Amy Sharpe has completed the Great North Run three times for Asthma UK - raising £588 at the last occasion - and is organising fundraising for various organisations, including running a cake stall for Macmillan.

Hawkesworth, which is the UK’s largest independent, dedicated PAT Testing company, has not forgotten loyalty to its local roots and has also provided wide-ranging support to Thirsk and Asenby Village halls and Thirsk tourist information office.

Hawkesworth managing director, Tim Crowley, said: “We are proud of our staff’s commitment to a number of great charities.”
