A BIKER believes his retirement community is being specifically targeted after his beloved motorcycle was stolen twice in three days.

Robert Johnson, 56, a retired English teacher and owner of a Honda CBF1000, woke up on Wednesday morning to find his beloved motorcycle had been stolen.

Mr Johnson, of Stokesley, said the double theft has made him fear for his safety.

In the first incident, he was woken by the police at 7.30am and told that his motorbike had been found wedged into a hedge on the playing fields adjacent to Allen Grove and North Road, Stokesley.

The police returned the bike to Mr Johnson, who was left in shock and suffered a panic attack later in the day when dealing with the aftermath of the theft.

After the bike was secured with higher levels of protection, and a claim made through the insurance, it was then stolen again two days later.

This time the thieves broke through two heavy duty chains and padlocks to steal the machine between 12.45am and 02.15am last Saturday morning.

It is Mr Johnson’s belief that this is a targeted attack on a gated, retirement community set of housing.

He said he had recently asked his landlord for permission to erect a secure shed at the back of his property, but the his request was denied.

He blames that decision on the double theft and his present feelings about security in the area.

Mr Johnson said he shall be attempting to see his MP, Rishi Sunak, in a bid to close down the public right of way that cuts through the back of his property and and approximately 15 others.
