A MAN had to be treated in hospital after he was hurt in a head-on collision on the A19 in North Yorkshire.
The smash happened at Thirkleby, just south of Thirsk, and involved a blue VW Passat which was travelling towards York, and a black VW Golf travelling towards Thirsk.
A man from the Saltburn area sustained slight injuries for which he was treated and later discharged from James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
The smash happened just before 9pm on Saturday and police are asking for the public’s help in piecing together the full circumstances.
“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the two vehicles prior to the collision to contact us,” said a spokesman.
“In particular, we would also like to speak to the occupants of an unidentified car which was travelling towards York which is believed to have been in the process of being overtaken by the VW Passat.”
Contact 101, select option two and ask for Mark Thompson or email Mark.Thompson@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk . To remain anonymous, pass information to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
