POLICE are appealing for information following a hate crime incident in North Yorkshire.

Officers say a man with a walking stick was verbally abused on Dishforth Road, near the village of Copt Hewick, Ripon at 6pm on Thursday, July 13.

There were a number of other vehicles on the road at the time of the incident and police believe other people may have witnessed the incident and what was said at the time.

Officers are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
