A CALL has gone out for all market traders - whether regular, casual or new - to pitch up and book a free place at a special Yorkshire Day market in Bedale.
The town council in partnership with the emerging traders market group Brand Bedale are keen to develop special events to encourage residents and others to visit and support the local economy.
“Yorkshire Day is a very special day for our county,” said Janet Stevens, the owner of antiques and interiors shop Red House and one of the first members of Brand Bedale.
“What better way to celebrate it than with a typical Yorkshire market in a beautiful market town.
"We have been holding markets in Bedale since 1251 and thought it a good way to put Bedale on the map - and by offering a day of free trading for stall holders we hope it will entice more people to have a stall.”
To book a place at the Yorkshire Day market on August 1, contact the town's market superintendent Phil Matthews on 07463 720810.
Traders must have public liability insurance and need to bring their own stall or table.
