MUSIC legend Tom Jones has confirmed he will play Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Sunday July 2.

Tickets for the show at Europe’s largest open air theatre will go on general sale at 9am on Friday, February 24.

Sir Tom said: “I played Scarborough OAT in 2015 and we had a wonderful time. I’m looking forward to coming back to this beautiful open air venue on the Yorkshire coast for another great night of music and good times!”

With a career that has seen him sell in excess of 100 million records, Tom Jones has won countless accolades including a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music and a Silver Clef Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Knighted by Her Majesty The Queen in 2006, the global star has amassed 36 top 40 UK hits.

Peter Taylor, of Scarborough OAT promoters Cuffe and Taylor, said: “Tom is a true music legend and I’m thrilled we are bringing him back to the Open Air Theatre.

“We have done many many gigs with Tom across the UK over the last few years. All have been amazing events, none more so than at Scarborough two years ago.

“That was a great night and we cannot wait to bring Tom back to this wonderful venue for another night we feel sure will live long in the memory.”

Tom Jones joins Kaiser Chiefs, Little Mix, Jess Glynne, Olly Murs, Madness, Cliff Richard, The Beach Boys, UB40 featuring Ali, Astro and Mickey Virtue, George Benson, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, 80s v 90s night and indie stars The Charlatans among the star-studded headliners at Scarborough OAT in 2017.
