AN insight into the life of Yorkshire’s most famous vet will be on offer when the Cleveland Tontine at Staddlebridge launches a new series of business lunches on February 27.
The events are designed to provide networking opportunities for local businesses, as well as offering a series of entertaining speakers.
The Cleveland Tontine director Michael Ibbotson said: “There are some great businesses in this area but they are often working in more isolated situations than they would be elsewhere. We want to bring businesses together and I think this is a good way to achieve that.”
Rosie Page, daughter of the late Thirsk vet Alf Wight, known to millions as James Herriot, will share her memories of growing up with him at the first lunch.
The second lunch, on March 27, will feature Judy Bell, founder of Shepherd’s Purse Cheeses at Thirsk, who will share the secrets of the business’s success from its small beginnings to a multi-award-winning producer.
