THE annual Leyburn Auction Mart dinner dance raised more than £1,500 for Yorkshire Cancer Research and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Proceeds from a raffle held at the event at Tennants Garden Rooms, Leyburn, have been split equally between Yorkshire Cancer Research and Alzheimer’s Society.
Auction Mart secretary Rachael Simpson said: “It was a fantastic night and we’ve had some amazing feedback from guests about the food and venue in general. We moved into a bigger room this year so had 100 more people than last year, which we decided to do because we had to turn people down last year.
“Next year is our 100th anniversary and we want to do something really special. I’m aiming to get around 400 guests and do something really special to mark the occasion.”
