AN electricity pylon caught fire in North Yorkshire this morning.
Firefighters and police were called to the fire on the A162 at Tadcaster.
Residents reported hearing a bang at about 3.30am.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A crew from Tadcaster attended the incident. Fire crews used a thermal imaging camera at the scene but let the fire burn safely until an engineer from Northern Power Grid could attend and isolate the electrical supply. The incident was handed over to Northern Power Grid and left with them to deal with."
