HOLIDAYING cat owners in North Yorkshire who worry about how their pets fare in catteries now have a different option.
Yorkshire Meow is a new pet sitting service launched by 27-year-old Alex Greenshaw.
Miss Greenshaw, originally from Richmond, is moving to the market town to set up her new business which will see her care for people’s pets in their own homes.
Although primarily aimed at cats, Miss Greenshaw will also visit other small animals such as hamsters and chickens.
Her services include looking in on the pets daily, ensuring they are well-fed and administering any medication they may be on.
Owners will also receive photographs and updates on their pet’s wellbeing whilst they are away.
Miss Greenshaw said the service will help allay the worries that many cat owners have about leaving their felines in catteries when they go on holiday.
She said: “Catteries are not for all cats.
“One of my own cats is pretty much wild and wouldn’t get on in a cattery, they like their own territory and it is better if they can stay in their own place.”
Yorkshire Meow caters primarily for the Northallerton and Bedale areas and is a member of the National Association of Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers.
