MORE than £17,500 has been raised at the second Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre Charity Spring Ball.
Held at the Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate, the event, sponsored by Lights4Fun and Rabbit Hill Country Store, saw guests enjoying a fun-packed evening with food, wine and entertainment from a live band and a disco.
A charity auction, silent auction and raffle provided plenty of prizes and lots, with the highlight being a hamper personally donated by Prince Charles.
The total raised is continuing to rise and the final amount will be split between the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre charitable fund to provide supportive complementary therapies to local cancer patients and Macmillan Cancer Support.
The chair of the organising committee, Sarah Grant, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown to this event, through the sponsorship, prize donations and everyone who bought a ticket and attended on the night.
“The feedback we have received has been overwhelming since Saturday, and demand is already high for next year’s Spring Ball - which will be held on May 20.”
