A MAN alleged to have killed a pensioner who died four days after he was found with serious injuries in his home has appeared in court.

Ryan Brady Campbell, 29, is accused of the murder of 85-year-old George Francis Kidson, who lived n Sowerby, Thirsk, in North Yorkshire.

Mr Campbell appeared for a brief hearing at Teesside Crown Court today (Friday, Nov 20) via a live video-link from Holme House Prison in Stockton.

He had been charged with attempted murder, until Mr Kidson died in the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough on November 9.

Mr Campbell, of Racecourse Mews, Thirsk, will return to court on January 25 when it is expected he will enter a plea to the charge.

The Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Simon Bourne-Arton, QC, remanded him in custody until his next appearance.
