TWO CONCERTS will mark the unveiling of a new artwork inspired by the unique landscape of the North York Moors.

Work commissioned for the North York Moors Chamber Music Festival will be unveiled at the Inspired by... gallery in Danby on Sunday, November 8.

To mark the occasion there will be a concert at the gallery at 7pm on Friday, November 6 and at 3.30pm on Sunday, November 8, when the paintings by Carol Tyler will be unveiled.

Since 2009, Carol, who lived for several years in Whitby and now lives in Hawes, has been artist-in-residence for the annual North York Moors Chamber Music Festival. The concerts, mostly in August, take place in a variety of churches in and around the moors.

Tickets for the two concerts on November 6 and 8 are £15 and must be booked in advance by calling 01439-772737.

There is also a ‘meet the artist’ event on Saturday, October 17 from 12-noon to 3pm, with music from A Garland of Flutes.

The Inspired by… gallery at The Moors National Park Centre hosts changing exhibitions of work by artists who draw their inspiration from the landscape, life and colour of the North York Moors. Admission is free, and the gallery is open in October and November daily from 10.30am to 4pm.
