YOUNG ambassadors have been promoting the benefits of further education as research reveals their sixth form to be among the best in the country.

Student representatives from Northallerton School and Sixth Form College addressed more than 130 pupils in Richmond and Bedale to encourage them to think carefully about making the right choices after finishing their GCSE exams next summer.

The sessions were staged as Oxford Analytics research showed the sixth form was sixth in the country for added value for A-level geography and 12th for A-level physics.

Seven sixth form students spoke to pupils at St Francis Xavier School, Richmond and Bedale High School on the benefits of choosing the right sixth form college both educationally and socially.

Head of Sixth Form Bronia Harris said: “It’s wonderful that our ambassadors are so passionate about our school and their education that they want to let pupils at other schools know about it.

“We are thrilled to learn about the national rankings for our physics and geography A-level results last year, which are a huge credit to our students and teachers.”
