YOUNGSTERS and adults are joining forces to stage a musical spectacular for a good cause.

Northallerton College choir will perform with students from the Allertonshire School, the college Jazz Orchestra and the town’s Male Voice Choir in a two hour spectacular.

And proceeds will go to the Dales School at nearby Morton-on-Swale, which last year launched a £60,000 appeal to refurbish its hydrotherapy pool.

For the past 27 years it has been the only site outside of the James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough, to offer the community such a facility.

But it is now in desperate need of refurbishment so the school can continue its invaluable work. So far £46,000 has been raised with the concert expected to boost the total.

Conducted by Andrea Rhodes, the concert will see the coming together for the first time of the young musicians and members of the Northallerton Male Voice Choir.

Mrs Rhodes said: “The students have been working hard for the past two months and are delighted to be doing something for such a great cause.”

The concert will be on March 13 at 7.30pm, in the college hall on Grammar School Lane.

Tickets, £8 and £5 for concessions, are available from the college and school receptions or by phoning 01609-760474 after 5pm.
