AN 11-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after a serious accident involving a bus in York this morning.
The boy suffered injuries to his arms and legs after being hit by a bus on Tadcaster Road in the city at about 8.10am.
The road was closed to allow the air ambulance to land and he was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary.
It remains closed between Pulleyn Drive and the Hob Moor junction as specialist collision investigators carry out enquiries at the scene and traffic is being diverted.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.
