GRANTS of between £250 and £10,000 are being offered to voluntary schemes that help local health services.

Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is offering grants to innovative schemes which help support its health services.

Grants are available as one-off funding awards which will be allocated to successful applicants by the end of March.

The CCG is inviting applications for services which support the need of carers, those with dementia, reduce loneliness or isolation or help patients to live independently.

Last year they funded a drop-in service in GP surgeries where a trained volunteer from Northallerton and Richmondshire Citizens Advice Bureau helped people find information on non-medical issues, or refer them to other agencies such as MENCAP or Age UK.

The Better Health Advice Service started in Thirsk Health Centre and is now up and running in other practices including Bedale, Stokesley, Aldborough St John and Reeth.

Applications are welcome from voluntary organisations, charities and community groups based in and serving the Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby areas.

Applications need to be submitted electronically by Friday, January 23.
