PUPILS have travelled back to Neolithic times as part of a project.
Youngsters from Richmond Methodist Primary School and Arkengarthdale CE School returned to 3,500 BC to sample Stone Age life.
A range of activities were arranged at the Richmond primary school throughout the afternoon.
They created a Stone Age shelter and school cook Suzie Robertson arranged for them to try out some food cooked on a fire pit specially created in the school grounds.
History co-ordinator Katy Partington said: “The topic for this term has been Stone Age to Iron Age, so they have been learning about changes through time so children can see and experience what life was like back then.
“They had a great time grinding corn and trying food. They had some Stone Age bread cooked over hot stones so they tried that. But luckily we gave them haggis instead of offal.”
