A CONSUILTATION has been launched on the future of mental health support service in England’s biggest county.

Residents, service users, providers and health professionals across North Yorkshire are being to take part and give their views on proposed changes.

At present the county council provides two telephone support services – CrisisCall and the Mental Health Support Line - for people who have mental health needs and need someone to give them advice or support. .

And the aim of the consultation is to develop a service which will improve ease of access for the user and value for money for the authority.

Proposals include replacing the existing telephone support services so a new service can be set up and provide a consistent service across the county.

It is also proposed to offer more than one way to contact the new service including telephone, text, email and web chat

A new service available out of normal working hours and at weekends is also envisaged.
