YOUNGSTERS were given the chance to put their artistic skills to the test when they helped to decorate a new tent at a glamping village, near Bedale.
Year ten and 11 GCSE art students from Mowbray School, a community special school at Bedale, took part in the Big Draw event at Camp Katur.
Big Draw is an annual arts festival held around the UK. This year’s theme was “It’s Our World” with students being encouraged to use different techniques, working with pine cones, grasses and leaves to decorate a special bell tent at the village, which will be used as an arts and crafts play tent.
Art teacher Linda Hall said: “We were delighted to be invited to take part.
"The pupils will probably never have the opportunity to paint on a bell tent again and it certainly was a once in a lifetime experience. Even the rain added to the final effect. "
The students are now planning to return to the camp for an overnight stay in the spring.
