A FORMER intensive care nurse who rose to fame cooking dishes on Masterchef has had one of her dishes named as the best in the show's history.

Sara Danesin Medio gave up nursing at York Hospital to run a dining club and cookery class from her home in the city, after finishing as runner-up in the 2011 series.

Almost 3,000 people have tucked into her food at the club since she appeared on the series.

And as part of the tenth anniversary of Masterchef, judge John Torode said Sara's home-made tagliolini with red mullet ragout was his favourite dish in ten years of the series.

She will be back on the show on Wednesday this week to judge dishes prepared by the latest batch of contestants.
