GUIDED WALK: A 4.5mile guided walk will take walkers from Swinithwaite village, near Aysgarth in Wensleydale, through West Witton, along the river Ure and to the three flight waterfall at Redmire.

The three-hour walk, on Wednesday, May 7, will be led by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.

Sturdy footwear, appropriate clothing and a drink and snack are recommended.

The group will meet at 10am in the overflow car park at Berry’s Farm Shop in Swinithwaite.

TOUR TROPHY: Tennants Auction Centre in Leyburn is set to host the Tour de France trophy on Tuesday, April 22 from 11am until 5pm.

The trophy will be available for members of the public to see in its main building, and items from the upcoming country house sale will also be available to view on the day.

The trophy will be at Richmond School on Wednesday, April 23, and open to the public from 6pm until 7pm, and on Thursday, April 24 it will move again to Richmondshire District Council’s Mercury House, from 9am until 11am.

NEW HOMES: Hunton village, near Catterick Garrison, is set to get six new homes through a partnership between Richmondshire District Council and Broadacres Housing Association.

The homes are to be built off Wild Hill Lane in the village and will be affordable homes comprising of four two-bedroom homes and two three-bedroom homes, which are due to be ready for occupation by the end of March 2015.
