AN AGRICULTURAL show will have a new venue for 2014 on part of Dishforth Airfield.

The Aldborough and Borobridge Show, on Sunday, July 20, will have its usual attractions of horses, ponies, shires, shetlands and donkeys, sheep and cattle.

Popular events at the show include the private driving classes, and the dog classes which are a big draw to local dog owners.

'Have a go’ dog agility will return this summer after its success last year.

There will be locally produced food, a bar and cups of tea and cake from the local Women’s Institute, as well as specialty coffees, bacon sandwiches, hog roasts and fish and chips.

Vintage tractor and car display will bring back memories of times gone by and demonstrate the skill and expertise of those who have lovingly restored them to their former glory.

Boroughbridge Young Farmers will also be represented and prospective members are encouraged to find out more about the forthcoming programme of activities, as well as promoting UK farming.

Main ring commentary will be given by Mike Keeble, an experienced countryside speaker, and the many trade stands and craft stalls will return.

There will be plenty of attractions for the children, including junior football and traditional races.

There will be classes for artwork, handicrafts, floral art and photography, as well as eggs, jam, bread, pastry and baking, and vegetables, flowers and plants.

Local school children are encouraged to take part in classes especially designed for them.

Further details available on the show committee stand at Plot to Plate, on Saturday May 10, at food event organised by Boroughbridge Allotment Society.

The committee dinner dance will be held at The Bridge Inn, Walshford on Friday, May 16.
