Help needed for world record bid
A GROUP of students is planning to raise funds for Comic Relief - by attempting to set a series of new world records.
The teenagers from Northallerton College have set their sights on setting six different records over three days in March next year.
But first they need to raise £2,000 to stage the event and have official Guinness Book of Records adjudicators - and are now appealing for help from the public and local companies.
Two of the record attempts will possibly be a "bus cram" - trying to get as many as possible in a bus - and a giant hokey-cokey dance.
The others have still to be decided and suggestions are being sought from other students at the college.
The head of the college's world records attempts committee, Jamie Williams, said: "We urgently need to raise £2,000 from generous company or public pledges - and there will be a chance for banners to be placed around the college during the event."
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Jamie care of Northallerton College or by email at wrad2009@googlemail.com
