A CHEESE-LOVING movie star
is to hit the big screen in
Thirsk, with a screening of his
film at a museum.
The World of James Herriot,
in Kirkgate, is to show the
Wallace and Gromit film The
Wrong Trousers.
For one night only, Nick
Park's award-winning
animation will be screened at
the visitor attraction.
The screening comes as the
Herriot centre joins 69 other
museums and galleries taking
part in the Museum at Night
scheme.
It forms part of Museums
and Galleries Month and is
supported by the creator of
Wallace and Gromit, Aardman
Animations.
Museums and Galleries
Month runs through May with
a series of events and
activities.
Visitors to the Thirsk
screening can make Shaun the
Sheep puppets, based on Mr
Park's movie of the same name.
Alison Scurrah, centre
manager, said: "This is the first
time we have taken part in this
event. It is a one-off chance to
see Wallace and Gromit at their
funniest in a unique setting.
"We hope lots of people will
come along, watch the film and
make a Shaun the Sheep
puppet. It promises to be a fun
night."
The screening is next
Saturday, at 5.30pm and
6.30pm. Tickets cost £2.50 and
children must be accompanied
by an adult.
Booking is essential, on
01845-524234.
