AN Archery club is hoping to attract some new members through its open day this weekend.

The Thirsk Bowmen want to encourage more people to take up the sport and will be providing equipment and advice for free on Sunday.

The club has many experienced members and welcomes people of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced. The club can also accommodate those with disabilities.

Those interested can become members but there will is no obligation to do so. For more details about the club, or the event, which runs from 12-4pm, call Ken Billings on 01609-778765 or 07515-187275.
