A HUGE inflatable theme park is set to open in the North-East.

InflataSpace, the latest brainchild of the Fun Shack Group, owners of premier trampoline parks Jump 360, will be the biggest permanent indoor inflatable theme park in the country, and the first in the region.

The park will be space themed and visitors can expect to enjoy sliding down extreme rocket drop slides, bouncing on giant inflatable planets, suiting up in inflatable sumo wrestling rings and taking part in a gladiator challenge on podiums with battle sticks.

The park is set to open on February 26 and is part of a £2.5m development which will transform a large, empty warehouse in the east end of Newcastle into a giant indoor adventure park.

The site will include a Clip N Climb climbing centre and a Fun Shack children’s indoor play centre.

The complex is in Benfield Business Park, near Walkergate Metro station and is creating 100 jobs with roles including front of house, catering and management.

Stuart Freeman, director at Jump 360, which is based in Seaham, County Durham, said: “We are extremely excited to bring the first inflatable theme park to the North-East, it is only the second in the county and completely different to our other experiences.

“We’ve had a blast planning all of the activities, it really is going to be out of this world.

“The success of our Jump 360 trampoline parks in Newcastle, Stockton and Hartlepool has been fantastic and we can’t wait to welcome visitors along to enjoy a whole new experience at InflataSpace.”?
