Police investigating armed robbery outside supermarket
A G4S security guard was robbed at gunpoint outside a supermarket this (Saturday, December 2) afternoon.
Two offenders escaped on a motorbike following the hold-up at Asda in the Lemington area of Newcastle, at 2.10pm
The security officer was left shaken by the incident outside the High Row store.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “We would appeal to anyone who saw those involved, the motorbike or anything suspicious to get in touch.
“People in the area can expect to see an increased police presence while we conduct our enquiries.”
