A MAN suspected of carrying out a stabbing at a North-East Metro station  has been arrested.

The attack, in Jarrow, on South Tyneside, at 6am on Saturday, left the 29-year-old victim with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

A 31-year-old man, from South Shields, was arrested by police on earlier on Monday.

Chief Inspector Lisa Hogan said: "This was an horrific attack that left the victim with serious injuries, thankfully his injuries were not life-threatening and he should make a full recovery."
