YOUNG riders who rode horses up and down the North-East’s busiest shopping street are wanted by police.
It follows a report on Friday of four youths riding horses up and down Northumberland Street in Newcastle city centre.
Officers are carrying out enquiries to identify those responsible so that suitable words of advice can be given.
Officers are also looking into whether any offences have been committed around the horses being ridden on Northumberland Street.
PC Alan Lumsden, who is dealing with the incident, said: “We are also concerned as the youths were not wearing safety equipment so therefore putting their own safety at risk.”
Anyone with information that can help with police enquiries should contact Northumbria Police on 101.
