A MAN has been killed after being hit by a car.
At around 1am this morning, police received a report of a collision on Tunstall Hope Road in Sunderland.
"Emergency services attended and found that a man had been hit by a white Honda Jazz, the driver stopped at the scene and is currently helping police with enquiries," a spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said.
"The man who was struck by the car was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"Enquires are on-going to determine the circumstances of the incident."
