A MAN has been charged over an incident that saw part of part of Newcastle shut down today.
"Maxwell Scott Brennan, 28, of Shipley Walk, Byker, has been charged with communicating false information about a bomb hoax, false imprisonment and possession of a bladed article," said a spokeswoman for Northumbria Police.
"He has been remanded in custody to appear at South East Northumberland Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
"Nobody was injured during the raid and those involved continue to receive support from police."
