A MASKED robber targeted a Sunderland bookmakers this morning.
Police are appealing for information following the incident at BetFred on The Green in the Southwick area of the city, at about 8.40am.
The robber went in to the store and threatened staff before making off with a quantity of cash.
Officers are currently carrying out inquiries in the area and reassuring residents.
A police spokesman confirmed the man responsible was wearing very distinctive clothing with a balaclava, gloves, high visibility yellow jacket which was down to his knees and had a hood, dark trousers and dark footwear.
He is described as white and with a local accent.
