A MOTHER has told of the moment youths threw rocks at her car as her partner drove along a dual carriageway at 70mph.
Julie Douglas, 22, was with her boyfriend, and their one-year-old daughter, Maisie, when their windscreen was smashed on the A1, near Newcastle.
Craig Johnson, 25, was driving the black Jeep Renegade when the rocks were thrown from a road bridge at 2pm on Saturday.
Miss Douglas, who works for Network Rail, is from Blyth, and had been to the Metrocentre.
She said: “We were covered in glass and, as my daughter cried in fear, we realised what had happened. It could have ended so differently, and I can’t bear to think what would of happened if the brick had hit one of us.”
