ABOUT 60 cars were keyed by a vandal in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The cars were parled along Southend Road, Grindon Lane and Gleneagles Road in the Springwell/Grindon areas of Sunderland.
They were damaged between 12.30am and 3am.
Northumbria Police said enquiries are ongoing and are appealing for help to identify the person responsible.
He is described as being of medium built and wearing dark clothes and a hoodie.
Extra patrols are being carried out in the area.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 7712/03/17
