METROCENTRE: The accident is near here on the A1
A SERIOUS accident is being dealt with by police on the A1 on Tyneside.
The accident is near to the MetroCentre, in Newcastle.
The sliproad from the A1 is closed and police are asking people to avoid the area. Delays are expected.
Northumbria Police has not said whether the accident is on the north or southbound carriagway.
