A WOMAN has been glassed while enjoying a night out with friends in Newcastle.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the assault at Livello bar in the city centre at around 11pm on Saturday evening, February 4.

The victim was with her partner and friends when she became involved in an altercation with another woman after a drink was spilled.

The woman used a glass to strike the victim to the face causing it to smash, leaving the victim with a large wound to the forehead and nose that required stitches.

The offender is described as being white, in her late 20s to early 30s, around 5ft 5ins tall and of medium build. She had long straight dark hair, which she wore down, quite a lot of make up and dark clothing.

Enquiries are ongoing into the attack and officers are checking for CCTV footage.
