A CHARITY is inviting people across the region to join in its New Year’s resolution.
Parkinson’s UK will launch its third fundraising walk campaign on Wednesday, January 11 and has resolved to make it the biggest yet.
It wants to recruit participants for the Walk for Parkinson’s event at Newcastle Quayside on May 13, when a range of distances and terrains will be available.
Having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2011 at the age of 44, Sky Sports presenter Dave Clark is championing the event and last year did a 200 mile coast to coast walk for Parkinson’s UK.
He said: “If you’re looking for a New Year’s resolution that’s achievable and rewarding, sign up to Walk for Parkinson’s in the North East and join us in our resolution, because with every step we take and every pound that we raise, we get closer to a cure.”
