Northumbria Police is appealing for information following an alleged assault in Newcastle
A MAN has been assaulted while on his way to watch a football match in Newcastle.
Police say the 35-year-old was assaulted by a group of people on the footpath alongside City Walls at around 7.30pm on Friday, December 30.
The man was walking towards St James’ Park to watch the Newcastle United match when the incident happened.
It is believed those involved fled the scene after the incident.
Police later arrested two 21-year-old men and two women, aged 19 and 18.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them by calling 101.
