SWIMMER Josef Craig won a bronze medal at the Rio Paralympics on Sunday night.
The 19-year-old from Jarrow, on Tyneside, finished third in the S8 men's 100m freestyle.
He had qualified fastest with a new personal best and British record of 58.73, and bettered that in the final with a time of 58.19.
Craig was beaten by Chinese swimmers Wang Yinan and Yang Guanlong.
Speaking afterwards, he said: "A personal best is good but I wanted to win the race."
