FOUR men were arrested during a right wing demonstration over the weekend.
It was held in the Toward Road area of Hendon in Sunderland from about 11am on Saturday.
One man was arrested for assault, one for disorderly conduct and two for public order offences.
Northumbria Police has said the officers acted quickly to provide a proportionate response.
Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed any criminal offences or disorder during the demonstration to get in contact.
Acting Detective Sergeant Paul Johnson said: “We believe there were witnesses who we have not yet spoken to and would ask these people to come forward and speak to us as they may have important information to help our enquiries.”
