ORGANISERS of a concert to mark The Queen’s 90th birthday want to invite anyone who shares Her Majesty’s birthday to join them for the big day.

The 90 Glorious Years Commemorating HM the Queen concert is being held at Newcastle City Hall on Saturday, June 11.

The concert will feature performers from across the North-East including the Band of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, children from Barnardo’s, performers from Durham Musical Theatre Company, pupils from East Herrington Primary School, members of the Hindu Cultural Trust, members of Space2, and the Little Sisters singers.

Members of youth organisations supported by the Queen will parade alongside Scouts and Guides and members of the emergency services.

Event organiser Major Eric Ingram is inviting any 90-year-old born on April 21, the same day as Her Majesty, to be his special guests on the night.

Major Ingram said: “We want to share this celebration with as many people as possible but thought it would be lovely to have some special guests on the night who were born on the same day as Her Majesty the Queen.

“These special 90-year-olds would be our special guests for the evening, which would include a VIP reception and a free ticket for them and a family member to come and enjoy this fantastic celebratory concert with us.”

The day after the concert, the public are invited to a celebration on the Newcastle and Gateshead quaysides, with military parades, performances, including the Reme Pipe Band and a mini-flotilla on the Tyne between 11am and 5pm.

Anyone who wishes to put forward a special guest born on the same day as the Queen should contact Major Ingram on ericexcav@msn.com or 07931 743417.

Tickets for the concert are £11.50 available from www.newcastlecityhall.org or 08448 112121.
