POLICE searching for missing Ponteland woman Sally Allan have found a woman's body in the River Tyne.
Shortly after 1pm yesterday, a body of a woman was found in water near to the riverside in Jarrow.
The body has been recovered from the water and enquiries are being carried out to identify the woman.
Northumbria Police said they could not confirm that the body was that of Mrs Allan, but her family had been informed and their thoughts were with them at this time.
