A MINIATURE town set in a children’s centre to give youngsters the chance play at different roles has opened in the North-East.
Little Town, in Newcastle, is the first of its kind in the region and its owners are already planning to expand with another planned for the Darlington area later this year.
It has a wide range of costumes for dressing up with areas dedicated to giving little ones the chance to try out different adult roles.
They can drive a police car, ride with Fireman Sam, cook a meal in the kitchen or cut a parents’ hair.
There is also a theatre, shop, building area, doctors’ surgery and Post Office.
Little Town is best suited to children from toddling age to around six or seven years old.
Manager Lindsey Ray said: “At Little Town, we believe role play is vital for a child's development.
“Imagination, social interaction and creativity are skills that develop rapidly when stimulated and guided through role play. Little Town is an adventure for growing minds.
“Little Town is a clean and safe play space, designed to enable children and parents to interact together in a friendly environment.”
The centre has four, ninety minute sessions per day. Advanced booking is strongly advised as numbers are limited.
