The scene on the Quayside
POLICE last night (Monday, August 31) carried out a search along the Quayside in Newcastle after reports of a possible body in the River Tyne.
The alarm was raised at 6.15pm. Emergency services attended the Quayside carrying out a search of the area, including the river.
Officers were in the area to ensure disruption to members of the public was kept to a minimum.
