A HOMELESS man has been charged in connection with three attempted robberies in the space of 48 hours.
Darren Kenny, 32, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of attempted robbery and two counts of robbery after three alleged incidents in Newcastle.
It comes after a robbery at the SPAR shop on Moulton Court in Cowgate on Monday morning and an attempted robbery at the McDonald's restaurant on West Denton Way later that day.
Mr Kenny has also been charged with robbery in relation to an incident at the BP garage on Stamfordham Road in Westerhope the following day (August 25).
He is expected to appear before North Tyneside Magistrates' Court this morning.
